It’s almost that time of year again, and you may be thinking about how to make a difference on Earth Day. Sure, you may recycle and compost and carry a refillable water bottle. But in the spring, when the days are getting longer and leaves and flowers start to appear, we are all more aware of our connection to the environment. It is only natural to wonder what more we can do to reduce our carbon footprint. Here at Paper Shoot, we are proud our cameras are an eco-friendly product. Weeks ago, our team started thinking about how to make a difference on Earth Day. We are so excited to make an announcement!
Partnership with One Tree Planted
We are thrilled to announce that Paper Shoot Cameras has become a business partner with a non-profit organization focused on global reforestation. One Tree Planted is an amazing charity who is taking the initiative to plant trees in North America, Asia, Europe, Africa, Europe, and the Pacific. Since they started in 2014, they have planted over 11 million trees across the planet. Why trees?
Trees Fight Climate Change
Did you know that 15% of greenhouse gases are directly linked to deforestation? Trees absorb carbon dioxide and produce oxygen. They literally clean up harmful carbon so that we can breathe better quality air. Forests provide millions of jobs for humans, habitat for 80% of our global biodiversity, and ingredients for 25% of all our medicines!
How You Can Make a Difference on Earth Day
Partnering with One Tree Planted just made sense when we thought about how important trees are to our health and our environment. We are so excited about this initiative, and you can help. Here is how you make a difference on Earth Day:
#1 - One Camera = $1 = One Tree
That’s right! For every Paper Shoot camera sold for the entire month of April, we will donate $1 to One Tree Planted. If you’ve been thinking about buying your first Paper Shoot camera, getting another design, or gifting one to a friend, April is a great time to order, because we will donate $1 directly to planting a tree.
#2 - Community Ambassadors
Spring cleaning isn’t just for the house and garden, it’s for the whole neighbourhood. When the snow melts away, parks and public spaces are often littered with trash which has been buried all winter. Our Community Ambassadors are organizing cleanups in our areas on Earth Day. Want to get involved? Reach out!
#3 - Donate Direct
You can directly plant a tree from the comfort of your home, without even getting your hands dirty! One Tree Planted makes it easy for you to donate cash to support their tree planting programs. Check out this page to see how you can donate directly to this amazing charity, and feel good that there are more trees in the world because of you!
